Combichrist - 2009-12-09 @ Paris-Bercy

The guys from Combichrist (currently supporting Rammstein on tour through Europe) enjoyed my footage taken in Lyon the 2 december, and invited me to see them in Paris (and in order to give them my stuff). The aftershow was tremendous, I met interesting people. The party was also amazingly great, thanks to DJ Andy LaPlegua !

Thank you very much Andy, for giving me the opportunity to shoot Combichrist on stage in Bercy. It's pretty impressive to see so much people in the crowd (no less than 17 000 people in the crowd).

Despite the fact that I had my photo pass, the security guy didn't let me enter (don't know why... O_o). I insisted a little and said to him that I MUST shoot for the band that was playing and he finally let me enter. It's a shame that I miss the first and very good song, All Pain Is Gone, because it's the song where there's the more light.

You could think "wow it's Bercy, big venue, there should be plenty of light' : big mistake !!! The lights were crazy, flickering like a strobe. Plus the fact that Andy continuously ran across the stage, it's was a real pain in the ass to make some good, non-blurred, well exposed pics. It was a nice challenge ! That's what I like in concert photography.

Kindly, Andy (the singer) made some faces at me, very nice. The other three were also incredible. Ahahah they're so funny during their shows ! As they told me, they're like some kind of robot on stage, they spend a fantastic amount of energy !

It was a very exciting and fucking thrilling experience. For all your kindness, I would like to thank you Andy, thank you too Joe, z_marr, & Trevor. I was very pleased to meet you all and I look forward to see you again in France (or somewhere else on this planet!).

I photographed this concert with the Pentax 16-50mm f/2,8 mounted on the K10D and the Pentax 50-135mm f/2,8 mounted on the K-7 (my two cameras have their grip).
